Description
Spiro is a raven that lives with a nice family on Kornat island, Croatia. They saved hima as a little bird, and he has been living with them for many years since. During summer, when there are lots of people around he is kept in a large cage as he is very curious, trusty but also a thief like many of his kind - and his friend that had similar life was killed. So, they keep him safe, but even when he has an open door, he always comes - home. Here I photographed him through a hole in the cage, so image quality is not as I hoped but it was closest I ever got to this fabulous bird.
Another thing, this guy can speak but that day he was not talking much, only when we told him he was a fake, he replied he was a good boy

I love this shot and I also want to thank you. Back in a high school (a long long time ago)literature class I got into a debate with my teacher over Poe's "The Raven". She was saying that the fact that the raven was talking was evidence of a supernatural element. My argument was that I it was that the bird was talking but the fact that what it was saying seeming seemed to be directed to the narrator, since ravens can talk. Of course, all I had to support that was the fact that I knew a talking crow. Her response was that crows were different from ravens which they are but I felt the were close enough relatives that ravens, most likely, could also talk. So, you've now confirmed what I believed all along.
